Two ways out of (pandemic) darkness: Henry Rollins and Evanescence will perform in Prague
There would be no light without darkness. The American group Evanescence, led by the charismatic Amy Lee, will come to the Karlín Forum in Prague to present their fifth studio album “The Bitter Truth”. This was affected by the global crisis and personal losses in the families of the band members. “Sometimes, among those difficult challenges, the theme of the whole album suddenly came up, which brought us all together. It’s harder than giving up to get things straight, even if it hurts.” Evanescence will come to Prague after four years and a sold out tour with the orchestra. This time he returns to his rock roots. Amy Lee herself likens the band’s 20-year career and new album to closing the circle. He will perform at the Karlín Forum on June 10, 2022. Tickets (CZK 1,290) are available in the Ticketmaster network. Their two Grammy Award-winning debut album “Fallen” (2003) is the fifth best-selling album of the 21st century. Evanescence at the time stood at the height of the nu-metal wave, which returned hard guitar music to the forefront of interest. From radio stations around the world at the time, they played their songs like “My Immortal” or “Going Under”. Their groundbreaking hit “Bring Me to Life” was indelibly imprinted on zero-decade pop culture. “When I do common things, like shopping in groceries, these successes seem completely crazy to me, the most important thing for me is that our music still inspires fans to create their own art, be it books, anime or music. I know “How important it is, because I’m myself made up of other artists. I’m extremely grateful for our loyal and inspiring fan base, ‘The Bitter Truth’ is a bit of a gift to her.” revealed Lee. Henry Rollins is a legend – how an otherwise overused sticker would be enough for him to engage in the iconic Black Flag, where he stood behind a microphone in the 1980s. Later, his unmistakable voice was heard in the Rollins Band – even in recent years, Henry Rollins spends on the road, but no longer with the band. His spoken word tour is famous and the latest “Good to See You 2022” is just announcing its Prague stop. It will take place on January 27, 2022 at the U Hasičů Theater. Tickets (590 CZK) will be on sale from October 7 at fource.cz and the GoOut and Ticketmaster portals. On the current tour, Henry Rollins will focus on the events that preceded the global pandemic and the strange events of the past almost two years. Do you have covid full of teeth? With Rollins, you can be sure that you will get a fresh look, exceptional stories and, above all, the enthusiasm for which this American workaholic is famous. His performance combines sharp political commentary with incredible personal stories, all in the unmistakable performance of a sovereign narrator.
