No, they are not nurserymen. According to them, they only followed the demands for remuneration. In any case, this is the version that the suspects were handed over to the police during their hearing on Tuesday. Last August, these two men stole three olive trees, two palm trees and a pomegranate tree in a fencing company in the Chapter sector in Toulouse.
Six trees which have, indeed, a good market value since the damage is estimated at 3,500 euros, specifies a police source contacted by the Independent Opinion.
Identified thanks to video protection
In August, when the company became aware of the theft, it immediately filed a complaint. An investigation was opened and charged to the police of the Left Bank property damage unit.
Thanks to the video surveillance, the police were able to see a van near the company and identify two individuals, aged 48 and 29, who were summoned to the police station on Tuesday.
They bring the trees back to the police
Seeing that they were unmasked, the two men wanted to show all their good faith by bringing them back to the police station … three of the six stolen trees, including two olive trees and a palm tree. Placed in custody, they partially acknowledged the facts even if they claim that there was a third person behind this theft.
These two men were already known to the police. They will soon have to explain their penchant for trees in court.
