Toulouse: 5.59 million euros from the State for public transport projects
Three projects in the Toulouse metropolitan area will benefit from state aid for an amount of 5.59 million euros. These are the Linéo 12 Borderouge – Rangueil, the Muret – Toulouse Basso-Cambo express line and the Basso-Cambo metropolitan exchange hub.
Jean-Baptiste Djebbari, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Ecological Transition, in charge of Transport, announced on Wednesday October 6 the winners of the 4e call for public transport projects on own site (TCSP) and multimodal transport hubs. Three Toulouse projects have been selected and will benefit from financial assistance for their implementation: the Linéo 12 Borderouge – Rangueil (€ 1.59 million, 17% of the project cost); the Muret – Toulouse Basso-Cambo express bus line (€ 2.13 million, 16% of the project cost) and the Basso-Cambo metropolitan exchange hub (€ 1.87 million, 14% of the project cost).
“This is very good news for the Toulouse metropolitan area, an announcement that comes after a health period that strongly impacted the use of public transport. It reinforces our efforts in the development of local travel projects “, declared Jean-Michel Lattes, president of Tisséo Collectivités:” These three projects have the increasingly important travel needs of the inhabitants of the metropolis in connection with the existing transport offer. This state support complements the financial envelope of 200 million euros granted last April for the financing of the 3e metro line as part of the recovery plan. The 3e metro line (will benefit in particular) the 70,000 employees of the aeronautical and airport hub and 63,000 jobs in the innovation hubs in the south-east of the region. ”
