The Prague 10 City District continues its “campaign” against waste. operation of households, but at the same time you can get your own quality fertilizer, for example, for growing vegetables.
“Those interested in a composter can submit applications both electronically, via forms on the website of the town hall, and in person at our office (Department of the Environment). We will gradually process applications as selected applicants, and we will sign a loan agreement with subsequent donation. The condition is that citizens use composters exclusively in the territory of the Ten, ” specifies Deputy Mayor Jana Komrsková (Pirates), who is in charge of the environment.
The city district has prepared for its inhabitants a total of 500 pieces of composters with a volume of one thousand liters, 350 of which are plastic, the rest are wooden garden composters. Their distribution is expected to start in the autumn of this year, so that people can use it, for example, to compost fallen leaves or garden waste. “A suitable raw material for composting is the common biodegradable waste of plant origin from the garden, such as grass, leaves, withered plants, fruit and vegetable residues or crushed small twigs. However, it is also possible to compost biomaterials arising from household operations. The tenth district places a long-term emphasis on reducing waste, and in general environmental education. This year, it offered its citizens a theme in a condensed form, through an almost two-month campaign April without waste. The initiative also attracted the attention of a professional jury and won the Municipal Project of the Year 2021 award in the Ecological Project category.
