Why is Lithuania an attractive place for wind energy development?
“I think in the next three years we will reach about 50 percent. I really believe that Lithuania can very quickly become an electricity exporting country, ”says Gediminas Uloza, General Manager of E Energija Group.
The specialist looks at the most powerful wind turbines in Lithuania being built in Telšiai district. According to G.Uloza, Lithuania still has a lot of unused land plots for such power plants.
In order to effectively employ wind, not only the latest technological solutions are needed, but also dynamic weather conditions need to be assessed. Icy wings, storms, changing wind direction – all this needs to be calculated. “Wind power plants recalculate every moment whether it is the most suitable angle to rotate and try to catch the most suitable angle,” says G. Uloza.
