Greater Lyon. Cyclists break records, three new Vélo’v stations open

For cyclists from Lyon (Rhône), September was the month of all records : that of the daily and monthly use of Vélo’v.
The people of Lyon seem to increasingly opt for cycling during their daily journeys. Bike, work, sleep?
Two records broken
The day of Thursday, September 30 is that of daily use record of Vélo’v from Lyon. Near 50,000 of these self-service bicycles have been unlocked by the cyclists of the metropolis to circulate there.
A figure that can be explained by the strike that day in public transport.
The previous record of this type of data from the previous week, Friday 23 September, with around 47,000 Vélo’v used.
The month of September was also that of monthly usage record with 1,144,228 places for self-service bicycles in Greater Lyon.
“It is an encouragement in favor of the mobility policy that we have been working on in the region for a little over a year,” says Fabien Bagnon, Deputy Vice-President for Roads and Active Mobility.
Three new Vélo’v stations open
Since 1uh October, three new Vélo’v stations were opened to meet growing demand and expand the service’s capacities.
A “Rocard Octavie” station in Villeurbanne, a Quai Perrache and a last Quai Saint-Antoine in the 2e Lyon district.
