Dispute over the exchange of lake property
politics
In St. Gilgen (Flachgau) the waves are currently running high: The reason is the exchange of two lakeside properties between the community and the Stiegl private brewery. The SPÖ accuses the governing ÖVP of infidelity. The property swap is a losing business.
2,500 square meters of space against around 1,100 square meters: This is not a good swap, criticizes the chairwoman of the SPÖ St. Gilgen Helga Stadler. She accuses the mayor’s party of unfaithfulness: “Here is a difference of 1,400 square meters and cannot be of equal value for me.”
Mayor Otto Kloiber from the ÖVP counters: “It is true, the square meters are different, but I have an expert report and the community gets a cost advantage of 350,000 euros.”
Expert opinion is no longer valid for the SPÖ
The report is from 2009 – too old for the SPÖ. Helga Stadler: “That is no longer valid for me. That will be determined with a new report. “
Report to the public prosecutor’s office
Mayor Otto Kloiber replies that the report stands up to every test: “Only small parts of the square meters have changed. The plots are quickly the same. ”Stadler now wants to report the matter to the community supervisory authority and the public prosecutor’s office. She also criticizes that the exchange means that a public path at the lake is lost. ÖVP Mayor Kloiber promises a 40 meter long lake access for everyone.
