Deputy government of the Ivanovo region Sergei Korobkin died in an accident on the highway in the Vitebsk region of Belarus. About it informs BELTA with reference to the traffic police of the Vitebsk regional executive committee.
The accident occurred on the morning of Tuesday, October 5, at the 68th kilometer of the Vitebsk – Polotsk – Latvian border road. A foreign car Mitsubishi Outlander drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a truck. 62-year-old car driver died in hospital.
Condolences to his family were brought by the head of the Russian region Stanislav Voskresensky, his text published on the website of the government of the Ivanovo region. “Sergey Korobkin is a true professional in his field, who has dedicated his life to the most creative profession – construction,” the message says.

Sergey Korobkin was born on February 12, 1959 in the Belarusian city of Gorki. He graduated from the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Industrial and Civil Engineering in 1981. He was appointed to the post of deputy chairman of the government of the Ivanovo region in 2018. Korobkin was an honored builder of Russia.
