“A Guerra dos Thrones”: video of “Casa do Dragão” (still) without images of Portugal. Targeted footage for this month
This Tuesday, HBO launches the first official teaser of the series “House of the Dragon”, a prequel to the multi-award winning “War of Thrones”. The video of the new bet of the North American streaming service, which may also be filmed in Portugal, was revealed at the launch event of HBO Max Europe, which took place this morning.
Last week, a Modexpor casting for men and women between the ages of 18 and 70, who reside near the historic village of Monsanto, in Idanha-a-Nova, and who are willing to film between 26 and 31 October. Men “must be prepared to grow facial hair”, reads a publication also shared by the Municipality of Idanha-a-Nova.
Based on George RR Martin’s “Fire & Blood”, the series takes place 200 years before the events of “The War of Thrones” and tells the story of House Targaryen. It will debut on the HBO Max streaming service, which will be available in Portugal early next year.
In the teaser, which presents the first official video images of the series, still without Portuguese landscapes, there are several elements of the cast in the respective roles. Wil Johnson plays Ser Vaemond Velaryon, younger brother of Coryls Velaryon and commander in Velaryon’s navy; John Macmillan gives life to Ser Laenor Velaryon (son of Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen); Savannah Steyn is Lady Laena Velayron, daughter of Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen and sister of Ser Laenor Velaryon (Theo Nate).
George RR Martin is co-creator and executive producer of “House of the Dragon”, which has Ryan Condal as co-creator and screenwriter, sharing with the director Miguel Sapochnik or the position of showrunner.
The HBO Max streaming service available in Portugal early next year.
