Ukraine is stepping up the development of cybersecurity education
Students from more than 50 universities in Ukraine took part in the Cyber Security Day – they wanted to open this initial Cyber Security Month at the Kyiv College of Communications.
His desire to represent the student can be professional growth in this area, in accordance with the Strategy of Cyber Security of Ukraine, the importance is attached to the development of education.
Cybersecurity Day is everything that is spread, which is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine together with the State, which serves special communication and information protection of Ukraine for higher education institutions.
“We are holding the fourth Cyber Security Month in the format of public-private cooperation,” said Volodymyr Kolyadenko, Vice President of the Kyiv Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Anti-Crisis Center for Cyber Business Protection of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine.
“All our efforts, the activities of a huge community, hundreds of companies, academia, government agencies that participated in this participation, involved in the fact that our initiative holds a Cyber Security Month at the national level of support,” – said Vladimir Kolyadenko.
At the event, representatives of government agencies, business and higher education institutions spread young information about the state policy in the field of cybersecurity, academic education, employment opportunities in the private sector and raising the professional level.
Serhiy Demedyuk, Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, noted that the newly adopted other Cyber Security Strategy is gaining momentum: who are attacking us. “
Oleksandr Fedienko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Digital Transformation, is taking part in the Committee’s work on the law on cybersecurity. “I am sure that Ukraine will receive specialists on the same platforms, on the same educational institution. And I, as the legislation, will make every effort to ensure that our laws correspond to modern realities,” the MP promised.
Success in cybersecurity, as in any other field, depends on three components: education, pragmatism and honesty. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the State Special Service Alexander Potiy. According to him, students can gain competence at the levels of government, enterprises; risk management, response to identifications and cyber threats, development of technical solutions for cyber security, protection of computer systems, etc.
For this purpose, 46 professions in the field of cybersecurity were added to the State Classification of Communications of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
“The application can offer an opportunity to change your career as a cybersecurity specialist: either a forensic investigator, or a vulnerability or risk analyst, a systems engineer or a software architect. A total of 46 professions that stabilize Ukraine’s current human resources,” said the Deputy Head of the Service.
“There are about 3 million trained specialists in the world. If you start studying this specialty today, you will have a great chance to become in-demand specialists,” said Oleh Haiduk, the newly elected chairman of the Information and Cyber Security Council of Ukraine. According to him, recently, when the Civil Service maintains communication and protects information, 63,000 attacks of various types on public authorities, about half a million suspicious events and more than 3,000 kilometers have been recorded.
In Ukraine, cybersecurity experts are going to get 52 departments in higher education institutions, which release about two students each year. The rectors of the universities who took part in the events proposed the transformation of educational processes. To do this, they equipped computer rooms, cyber ranges, modern laboratories. However, the rector of the National University of Trade and Economics Anatoliy Mazaraki stressed that for a proper material and technical base it is necessary to scan the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of 2001 № 332, which will be involved in new powerful computers.
We remind you that the Cyber Security Month is aimed at combating the “cyber epidemic”, developing a new paradigm of behavior in cyberspace, ensuring the sustainable operation of government agencies, businesses, services and systems.
The programs include round tables, regional courses and seminars on business cybersecurity, the PKI 2021 Forum, a national cybersecurity competition for student youth “CyberNinja”, a cybersecurity tournament for students of Kyiv “Cyberhero”, a presentation and a webinar on cyberpsychology. and many other activities.
