Russian expert named the reason for Facebook failure
An expert from Russia voiced his assumptions regarding the reasons for the many hours of disruption to Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.
Editor-in-chief of Russia Beyond Vsevolod Bullet, editor told RTthat Facebook’s six-hour crash is not a hacker attack. According to the expert, this is most likely an error on the DNS servers.
At the same time, the reason for the “freezing” of the social network can be both a technical failure and the human factor. Bullet did not rule out deliberate sabotage by DNS servers.
Later, their version was voiced on Facebook. Representatives of the team to resume services said that the reason for the failure of the social network is to update the dynamic routing protocol.
According to Downdetector, on October 4, 2021, there was the largest outage in the history of the American social network. In 2019, a similar problem was observed for only about an hour, but now Facebook hung for at least six hours.
After a six-hour shutdown, Facebook and Instagram gradually began to restore their services to work. At the same time, the WhatsApp messenger continues to hang.
