Russia resumed flights with Denmark, New Zealand – Economy and business
MOSCOW, October 5. / TASS /. Since Tuesday, Russia officially resumes regular flights with Djibouti, Denmark, New Zealand, South Africa and Peru, which was closed amid the spread of coronavirus, and is also expanding the geography of flights to India and Spain. The corresponding decision was made by the new operational headquarters for the fight against coronavirus infection. Thus, regular flights will be formally resumed from 62 countries.
Starting Tuesday, airlines can launch flights to Goa from Moscow and St. Petersburg (four flights a week on each direction), as well as to Tenerife from Moscow (two flights a week).
According to the headquarters, Russian airlines will be able to operate two flights a week from Moscow to Djibouti, as well as to Wellington, Lima, Cape Town and Johannesburg, and two flights a week from St. Petersburg to Copenhagen.
Where is the moment to fly Russian tourists
To date, no Russian airline has announced plans to resume flights to any of these countries. Not all of the formally open countries are ready to receive tourists. For example, India, the most popular among tourists, is not yet ready to receive tourists. As the head of the consular department of the Russian Embassy in India Andrei Fedorov told reporters earlier, the Indian authorities are actively discussing plans for the return of foreign tourists. But at the moment there was no information about the exact dates. Fedorov clarified that tourists must pass the PCR test 72 hours before departure, receive it in English, it is also recommended to have a vaccination certificate translated into English.
In general, experts do not expect any serious interest of tourists in flights to Goa. As previously reported by the executive director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) Maya Lomidze, many of the Russian tourists are afraid of the Indian strain of the coronavirus, and a small quota for flights to Goa also plays a role.
Tenerife, Wellington, Copenhagen are now closed for tourists. To visit Peru, Cape Town or Johannesburg (after opening a direct route or with a transfer), you will need to pass a PCR test. For flights to South Africa, Covid insurance is also required, in addition, it should be borne in mind that there is a curfew in South Africa from 21 to 4 in the morning, some beaches and parks are closed. You will also need to download the COVID Alert South Africa app. For flights to Lima – you must fill out an online form confirming the absence of symptoms of coronavirus, for travel within the country, you also need to fill out another form.
