Friday 1uh October 2021, Toulouse one named outclassed theSport Agora, a new consultative committee between the town hall of Toulouse and the amateur sports clubs of the Pink City.
This will change in 2022-2023
The operation of this Agora, and its objectives, were presented to the clubs on the evening of Friday: from the 2022-2023 season, the Toulouse town hall will change the criteria which make it possible to assess the activity of clubs but also the amount they will receive in terms of subsidies.
“Revisiting the criteria for grants”
As such, the mayor of Toulouse, Jean-Luc Moudenc, wants to be clear: “It is a question of revisiting the criteria of the subsidies to the sports clubs of the city while being more fair and without reducing the total amount of the subsidy given to these clubs”.
Losers and winners
After a drop of 25% during the previous mandate, the amount of 5.5 million euros allocated to 120 amateur clubs will not budge on the mandate. However, the amount allocated to each of these clubs will be reassessed. There will clearly be losers and winners in the deal.
“More equity”
It is the addition of several criteria, with a constant envelope, that will lead us to change the amount of these subsidies. We will try to move towards more equity by co-building with the clubs. But, it is certain, that we will not make only people happy, confirms Laurence Arribagé, assistant in charge of the coordination of sports policies at the town hall of Toulouse.
Specific objectives
Jean-Luc Moudenc specifies:
“We have defined with the clubs a certain number of objectives which will be based on strong values that we want to promote throughout the city: respect for secularism, the fight against radicalism, the promotion of gender equality / women and special attention will be paid to people with disabilities ”.
“More commitments”
“The clubs in town are doing a great job, but more is expected of them. We are therefore going to ask the clubs to get involved in our events but also in the life of the neighborhoods, ”notes Laurence Arribagé.
An elected official who nevertheless insists on the fact that this Agora will not only be a reassessment of the criteria for subsidies and a contractualization from the first euro of subsidy paid during the 2022-2023 season:
“It will also be an accompaniment on our part to the old clubs in good accounting and administrative management and in respect of republican values. We can also help them look for private partners ”.
Construction work this season
The work to determine the precise evaluation criteria will continue with the clubs. Two series of meetings will be held in November and December and the new system will be put to a vote before summer 2022.
