The Commissioner for Economy also stressed that the 11th report strengthens supervision, concluding that the country has fulfilled a number of specific commitments, especially in the field of privatization, tax administration, education and public administration. He also said that in the context of the 12th report, more progress is expected this month, mainly in the field of primary health, justice and repayment of overdue debts.
Addressing the head of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), Klaus Regling stressed that Greece’s economic recovery was much higher than expected until recently and added that he would not be surprised if the pace of the Greek economy for 2021 finally reaches finally 6% of GDP.
At the same time, Klaus Regling returned the progress in the transformations that Greece has made, however, he notes that he must give more efforts in the field of overdue debts. He also noted that the level of public debt is higher today than that pandemic, which he acknowledged was necessary, but should be closely monitored.
