Orelsan will launch its new tour with a concert in Caen on January 15, 2022
Norman rapper Orelsan is going on tour. He just announced it this Monday in a video posted on his Instagram account. As usual, his first concert will be in Caen, at the beginning of January. Reservations begin Wednesday October 6.
Orelsan perfectly handles the art of surprise and the opposite. In 2018, it is through the clip of Basic that he had announced the release of a new album. This Monday noon, it is with a very simple video, filmed in selfie, that he announced his return on stage. His new tour will begin on January 15, 2022, at Caen, the city of its beginnings.
There had been a bundle of clues. The Norman rapper had already announced a series of concerts a few weeks ago at the Accor Hotel Arena in Bercy, from March 16 to 19. After the Zenith of Caen, Orelsan and his band will perform at those of Rouen (19/01), Lille, Amiens, Clermont, and Toulouse. His tour currently has 31 dates until July bookable from Wednesday October 6 (all dates and reservations here).
If the announcement of turning has surprised more than one, it has not heard from its biggest fans. Indeed, Orelsan is a regular at fall outings. Thus, his last two albums, Mermaids’ song and The party is over, were respectively unveiled on September 26, 2011 and September and October 20, 2017.
A documentary series … and a new album?
This fall 2021 does not really depart from tradition, quite the contrary, since a documentary series titled “Never show that to anyone” due out on October 15 on the platform Prime Video. This is a compilation of videos and interviews made by his little brother Clément Cotentin from the beginnings of his career to its peak.
It could well be that the announcements of this 2022 tour and the documentary will be quickly followed by that of a new album. Orelsan has not released an opus for four years, although he had accustomed us to a new CD every two years since his breakthrough in French rap in 2009. While waiting for the release of his new songs, you can wait. by going to read the series of anecdotes he has published in recent weeks on his Youtube account.
