Celebrating the best of cuisine in all French regions: this is the principle of Gault & Millau circuit, which has met each year forward with the best in the world of cooking and rewards almost all professions in gastronomy.

Editing Occitania of this Gault & Millau tour was held this Monday, October 4, 2021, during a ceremony which took place at the Hôtel de la Cité, in Carcassonne. Gilles Goujon, the three-star chef of theAude, was sponsor of this edition. Several emblematic restaurateurs of Toulouse and the surroundings had made the trip such as Franck Reminel, chef of En Margin or Yann Ghazal, chef of Bibent.

The distinguished Genty Magre
And in this list, several establishments in Toulouse have been distinguished by the famous gastronomic guide. the Genty magre thus received the trophy Tradition today. A great reward for Romain Brard, chef of this restaurant since 2004.
“The title of the award suits us really well,” says the chef. »We really do traditional cooking today! “

This prize rewards the work of this chef who worked at new York and Tokyo before opening the Genty Magre in Toulouse. Romain Brard had already been noticed by the famous gastronomic guide in 2009, when he obtained the “Young talent” label.
Since the Covid has been there, and Romain Brard has reorganized his whole way of working at Genty Magre. With his company Priscilla in the dining room, and assisted by a kitchen diver, he decided to open his restaurant only four days a week and reduce the number of seats.
“I used to manage four cooks. Today I do everything from A to Z, I change the menu almost every day and I take pleasure in the kitchen. This Gault & Millau award is really a plus! “
