Charitable “Russian Bazaar” took place in Washington

The charity “Russian Bazaar” took place yesterday in Washington, reports on its Facebook page Embassy of the Russian Federation in the United States… The traditional action is held every year by St. John the Baptist Cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. The charity bazaar was held in the District of Columbia.


A fair was organized for visitors, where they could buy souvenirs, church utensils, products of folk craftsmen. Also, guests could taste traditional Russian cuisine. The proceeds will be used to help children and the elderly with health problems, low-income families and large families.


The fair was complemented by a cultural and entertainment program from the Golden Gate musical group under the leadership of V. Bezrodny from North Carolina and a youth dance group from Florida Natalia Dance Academy.


The event is also aimed at supporting and popularizing Russian folk traditions, and is designed to help Americans learn more about Russia, its customs, and feel “Russian spirit”
