When Václav Havel, the father of the first Czech president, visited San Francisco in the 1920s and had dinner by the Pacific Ocean at The Cliff House restaurant, he decided that Praguers deserved to have a similar event on the rock. He bought land full of fallow land above the Vltava River and the road to the construction of the Barrandov Terraces was opened.

A completely unique complex in its time, it offers a restaurant for several thousand people, a bar open until the morning and, above all, the most modern swimming pool in the country, which was reached by stairs like the sea.
