The school returns to the Genoa Science Festival
A rich program for schools which, together with the online schedule inaugurated last year, can also be used in person. The Science Festival, scheduled in Genoa from 21 October to 1 November 2021, is preparing for the nineteenth edition and launches the first news on the offer dedicated to schools, an audience that has always represented the heart of the event. After the 2020 edition, the students therefore return to animate the places of the Festival and populate the workshops and exhibitions, organized in full compliance with current regulations and with great attention to safety. For the first time, the online program for schools, which can be used by classes throughout Italy, extends beyond the duration of the event, until November 12, 2021. “A great attention to safety and a step towards normality – explains the president of the Festival della Scienza Marco Pallavicini – in this new Festival that wants to return to host a fundamental part of its audience, the schools.
Our goal for the 2021 edition is to offer a Festival as complete as possible and to do it in total safety. For this reason, we reopen workshops and exhibitions for schoolchildren, visitors we found missing in the last edition. Alongside the face-to-face activities, the range of online proposals is strengthened and enriched, with workshops conducted by our scientific animators, meetings with researchers and virtual guided visits to the laboratories of the most important research institutions, which teachers and students will be able to follow from all classes. The “Scientists in schools” project also returns during the Festival, with important names in the scientific panorama who will visit some Genoese schools. The digital offer confirms last year’s winning formula and offers three types of events: 10 digitalk, virtual meetings in which scientific researchers talk about each other, 35 digilabs, interactive workshops conducted by the Festival’s animators, and 15 digitours, virtual guided tours. inside the research centers, to find out how the job of the researcher works. The contents of the events, designed and created with the support of the main Italian and European research bodies and the most consolidated scientific dissemination associations, are aimed at a very wide school range: from primary school to high school. HOW TO BOOK The call center for reservations for schools is active on 010 8934340 starting from Monday 4 October. Reservation is free and compulsory for all events. Each school group is entitled to a maximum of three free bookings per day. The ticket for schools costs 9 euros and is valid for the entire duration of the Science Festival. The digitours and digitalk are free and can be used on the Orientations platform. The accompanying teacher subscription is free.
