This morning, starting at 9 am from Piazzale Michelangelo, the ‘Historical re-enactment of Florence-Siena’ will take place. A magical and spectacular race that began in 1953 with the victory of Eugenio Castellotti at an hourly average of over 130 km / h. Now it is the Historical Cassiacorse, chaired by Luigi Berra, who remembers it for the sixth edition, with a vintage regularity event that starts from the most beautiful ‘Terrace’ in Florence until reaching Piazza del Campo in Siena. During the short run in front of the historic Officina Bellini in San Casciano which during the Mille Miglia was an official assistance point for Alfa Romeos and in Barberino Elsa at the Cantine Pasolini. Many participants, about 50, from various parts of Italy and abroad including Holland, Germany, Austria and Great Britain, all with historic cars that express beauty, charm and functionality. An exciting motor show not to be missed that winds its way from Florence to Siena through ancient villages, with splendid roads and breathtaking landscapes.

Among the special appearances that of some members of the Bacci family to remember Romano, a great car tuner, who ran the Florence-Siena with a Topolino. The event is possible thanks to the support of some sponsors such as Banca Mediolanum, Margi watches, Sintesi car upholstery, Pasticceria Ghiott, Caffè Mokarabia, Milan 1951 and the Provincial Financial Advisors Office.

The Scuderia Cassia Corse 264 Storica (headquarters at Sambuca) organizes rallies of vintage cars, recalling past and fascinating speed races, held on the streets of Tuscany, between the 50s and 60s. Among these, the most famous is undoubtedly the Florence-Siena, which was held in the past in only 2 editions: November 1, 1953 and October 25, 1954. This year, at the seventh edition of the Reenactment, cars registered until 1975, regularly registered and insured, will be able to participate. as required by the highway code.
