Irish whiskey is exported to Luxembourg
A real Irish whiskey. This is what The Busker promises you, whose products are arriving in Luxembourg. And for good reason, their whiskeys are made at the Royal Oak Distillery, in the heart of Ireland, in County Carlow. This 18th century estate is located in Ireland’s Old East region.
But it’s not a classic Irish whiskey that The Busker offers. Combining tradition and contemporary daring is the goal sought by this newcomer in the history of whiskey. “We combine the rich history and heritage of Irish distillation with innovation and creativity,” says Woody Kane, Ambassador of the Royal Oak Distillery.
Different barrels are used during maturation, such as bourbon and sherry. But the peculiarity of the manufacturer is the use of barrels of marsala, a sweet Sicilian wine, in the aging process of its Triple Cask Triple Smooth whiskey and its Single Grain. Hand-selected, they come from Cantine Florio, one of the oldest estates in southern Italy (1833). Thanks to them, The Busker reinterprets in a modern and daring way the ancestral Irish drink.
And it is a beautiful range of products which are introduced in Luxembourg, since The Busker declines the four different whiskeys of the Irish tradition for the inhabitants of the Grand Duchy. First, the brand offers a Single Grain. For beginners, it is a kind of whiskey made from various unmalted grains, produced from one and the same distillery. Purists may prefer the Single Pot Still, which in turn undergoes several distillations.
The Busker also offers a Single Malt, made from a blend of malt whiskeys from the same distillery. Finally, we will find the Triple Cask Triple Smooth, a blend, the result of mixing different types of whiskeys from several distilleries.
Through this wide offer, the manufacturer aims to offer amateurs an authentic and high quality Irish whiskey. “Not only does The Busker offer a superb line of whiskeys of fantastic quality, but we are also adding a product like one like it on the market,” recalls Woody Kane.
Any advice on how to taste these whiskeys in the best possible way? For Woody Kane, there is no doubt, “The Busker is an excellent whiskey to drink with friends, when you join together to tell stories”.
