Imagine 50: A charity evening is announced at the Nagyerdei Water Tower
Debrecen – John Lennon’s album Imagine was released fifty years ago, and they are waiting for it with interesting conversations and concerts in the Great Forest.
On September 9, 1971, John Lennon’s album Imagine was released. The title song is one of the most important songs of the 20th century and the greatest anthem of world history. Over the past 50 years, he has worked on performances by more than David Bowie, Madonna, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Lady Gaga, Diana Ross, Liza Minelli, Neil Young, Peter Gabriel, The Perfect Circle or Avril Lavigne, but at this year’s Olympics also Imagine opened the event with the help of John Legend, transcribed by Hans Zimmer. In half a century, nearly a thousand processing has been done.
In honor of this, a charity evening will be organized at the Nagyerdei Water Tower. On Friday, October 8, from 6 p.m., the song and full album will also be celebrated with screenings, talks and live performances. Admission to the event is HUF 1,000. The total proceeds of the evening will come from the local team of the international Food Not Bombs movement, formed in 1980, the year of Lennon’s death, Food Not Bombs Debrecen you get it. The group prepares and distributes food to those in need.
