Haga Palace: Inside Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden’s “magnificent” home
It was built in 1802 for King Gustav IV Adolf’s children, and an apartment for each of his children was built in the palace. The outside has a simple classic design with a balcony supported by four marble pillars on the entrance side. On the inside, it is decorated with mirrors, carved door frames and cornices.
King Gustaf V gave his great-grandchildren a playhouse that is still on the plot and is used by Crown Princess Victoria’s two children, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar.
After a period of disuse, however, King Gustaf VI Adolf gave the Swedish government permission to use the palace for foreign guests in 1966.
Haga was transferred back to the king in 2009 from the government for Crown Princess Victoria and her new husband, Prince Daniel to live in.
Victoria’s younger sister, Princess Madeleine, reportedly helped decorate the interior.

Victoria and Daniel moved into the home in 2010 after extensive renovations to increase security and make the building updated.
Their private room, which consists of 25 rooms, is located on the first and second floor.
The 16-room apartment has a suite with five rooms along the front.
The Royal Court declared: “There is a main room in the center, a living room in the north and a library and a dining room in the south.”
It is not open to the public.
As it is a protected place in Sweden, it has been illegal to take photographs in the castle area without prior permission 2010.
IN In May 2021, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden shared a series of family photos taken on the site of their royal home, Haga Palace in Stockholm.
IN the first photo the Swedish king cuddled up for her husband Prince Daniel and their two children Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, which gave fans a new look inside their magical garden.
Victoria, Daniel and their children sat on a field of white flowers with large trees and shrubs.
The second photo saw their two children lying on the ground dressed in matching denim suits.
An Instagram user simply commented: “Magnificent”.
Another wrote: “Such a wonderful picture. I really love the Swedish royalty. Beautiful family!”
The royal couple shared another look into their fantastic home already in April 2021, when they went with Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway for a Zoom call from their respective properties.
Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel sat on a large white sofa topped with metallic pillows in their living room and office.
A dark wooden table contained its laptop and a desk, chair and lamp sat in the back left corner of the room.
Behind them, the wall was covered with white shelves with books and pictures, including one of their daughter.
