des vide-greniers bordelais en demi-teinte

This Sunday was held the 23rd edition of Bordeaux garage sales. Canceled last year because of the health crisis, the flea markets did take place but were marred by bad weather
The weather was not good with the bargain hunters this Sunday, October 3. Pour their 23e edition, Bordeaux garage sales promised to be festive, but the rain got the better of sellers, as well as buyers. Several flea markets have been canceled, such as those at Place de la République or Place Gaviniès in Ornano, where exhibitors quickly gave up installing their goods.
Those who were expected saw a significant drop in attendance. In Caudéran, out of the 150 registered exhibitors, only about thirty showed up during the day. The most planned had deployed tons of clothing to protect, children’s games or old crockery. Others hoped for a clearing in the afternoon to install their bric-a-brac.
In spite of everything
But the gloomy weather did not start the good humor of the bravest who came for a walk. “Even if it rains, it’s always a nice outing,” says Luc, who strolled through the Place des Martyrs de la Resistance. After the cancellation of the event last year because of the health crisis, the fervent negotiators were delighted to find the spirit of flea markets.
Pierre and his mother Patricia, determined to sell their trinkets, even made the trip from the quays of Queyries, where the clearance sale was canceled, to come and put their bags in Nansouty. “It was done at the last minute. We were already installed when we had to repack everything, ”explains the young man. “But since we had everything ready, and we knew it was, we said to ourselves that we could perhaps come”, continues his mother.
The opportunity to shit the best deals. “So far I have only found a hat for my little girl but I haven’t finished yet,” explains Béatrice from Caudéran. For the unlucky people scattered empty-handed, no worries: other empty attics are to be expected next week near Bègles or Pessac.
