Defensive slips in Amsterdam loudly Dutch
Amsterdam
VVSB has dropped further to the right row after the defeat in Amsterdam. The amateurs of Ajax took the longest and won at De Toekomst 3-1, resulting in VVSB now in twelfth place.
,,I think we can’t be any different”, said VVSB coach Richard Plug. ,,We don’t have a team to play in the top of the third division. We lack too much quality for that. We are also unlucky that first keeper Ruben Valk suffered a serious injury before. He is a boy who does have extra quality and can take points for you. With a bit of bad luck, we lost him for the rest of the season.”
The difference between VVSB and Ajax was that the visitors did not capitalize on their first chances and the team from Amsterdam did. And that said a lot. The team from Noordwijkerhout had literally and figuratively caused a defensive slippage in the 1-fall and a stupid attack by wing defender Richelo Fecunda resulted in a penalty kick for the Amsterdam goal.
,,I thought it was a bit harshly punished”, said Plug. ,,But on the other hand, Richelo should know that he should not make mandatory in that place.”
After the break VVSB try to change tack with three fresh forces, but after an hour the 3-0 fell. Danny Bakker then saved the honour. ,,We didn’t lose to a superior Ajax”, Plug said. ,,But from a team that even just got their points in the third division. So in that sense we are lost. We have to be honest with ourselves and see our problems for this level.”
VVSB will play a home game against ACV next week.
