Belgium: bosses can know the vaccination rate among their employees
This is information that could make Belgium cringe. According to the Belga press agency, relayed by the RTBF, the bosses of companies with more than 50 employees can know the vaccination rate against Covid-19 of their employees. This information was unveiled by the Vaccination Task Force on Saturday, October 2. Frank Vandenbroucke, the Belgian Minister of Health, announced a few weeks ago to Echo that this vaccination rate could be known by “big companies”, without revealing the details.
Customers can make a request to the authorities to find out this rate, which they can then relay publicly. The anonymity of employees will be communicated: it will not be possible to know who is vaccinated against Covid-19. The occupational physician may also take the initiative to inform the company about this rate, which will be communicated with precision to the companies concerned, which is between 20 and 95%. For lower or higher rates, only an estimate will be sent. The goal here is that a business does not boast about a 100% vaccination rate, for example.

The health pass arrives in Belgium
A “high vaccination rate can in no way mean that the preventive measures relating to Covid-19 (barrier gestures, etc.) should no longer be applied”, specifies the Vaccination Task Force, which hopes to be able to raise awareness among companies with a low vaccination rate through this initiative. As in France, vaccination against Covid is not compulsory in Belgium. A health pass, called Covid Safe Ticket, will however be implemented in Wallonia from mid-October: it will be required to enter bars, restaurants or retirement homes, explains The voice of the North. The Brussels region should implement this measure in the coming weeks, but not Flanders.
