A BOLA – «Let’s give our lives for Portugal to be champions!» (Futsal)
João Matos, 34 years old, one of the most experienced in the national team – has 165 games -, assured yesterday that Portugal breathes confidence to embrace history.
“It has been very hard. There were three games with extra time, extremely intense. But nothing will bring us down and nothing, in a great moment like this, can take us out of this game”, he said, prioritizing national quality: “Portugal has players who have already conquered practically everything. Only this title is missing. They thrived in Europe, they were European club national champions. It’s not because Argentina are world champions that they have more experienced players,” he said.
But João Matos is sure of one thing: only a team with the limits, physical and emotional, can successfully crown a journey that started 58 days ago.
«Let’s give our lives for Portugal to be champions! If we don’t, we’ll regret it. We have to feel, enjoying the moment. With confidence and rigor, we will make it! The group is extremely motivated and confident, it’s been an extraordinary journey since 8 August »stressed the fixed, who doesn’t see an end point on the horizon:« As long as I feel active and with the frame to continue playing, I’ll be here. I will never say no to the Selection. »
