Buying in bulk has become a consumer habit for millions of French people. A Toulouse (Haute Garonne)There are many grocery stores that offer their customers to leave with the right dose of pasta, lentils or even cereals, the jar under the elbow or the loose bag in the basket. Julien cazaubon was inspired by this principle to launch the sale in bulk … of spirits in his wine cellar Mr Pépin, recently opened at number 8 of the place Arnaud bernard.

“I am the first in Toulouse to offer this service to its customers. The concept is simple: during your first purchase, you pay an additional 4 euros to have a bottle and then you fill it with your favorite spirit from the ladies. -jeannes, 10-liter glass carboys. Once consumed, you can come back and repeat the same ritual, adjusting the content but no longer the container. “

Ecological and economical

Bulk sales an ecological idea, but not only. Indeed, this allows the wine merchant to lower prices and therefore customers to do savings. Sales manager for four years at the La Vigneronne cellar and former sommelier at the Barbaque restaurant, located in the Saint-Etienne district, Julien Cazaubon does not hide it:

“It is also a way for me to set myself apart from the competition with this desire to work directly with artisan distillers. And therefore, no longer depend on wholesalers.”

Until the end of the year, the company manager will continue to expand his range of spirits with soon a pear brandy made in Normandy. In the meantime, Toulouse residents can already discover two essentials: a Gin from organic farming and produced in Aveyron, and a armagnac of Domain of Hope in the Gers.

Wines under 10 €

Who says wine cellar … says wines visibly. At Mr Pépin, there is something for all tastes and also all purses. “I offer organic, biodynamic and natural wines for less than € 10 as well as a wide range of vintages from our most beautiful wine regions in France for more than € 10”, details the 30-something, who will launch tasting evenings in the coming weeks.

Perhaps the opportunity to savor a bottle of the Bonnes-Mares appellation. This grand cru near Nuits-Saint-Georges, halfway between Musigny and Chambertin, is one of the most famous in Burgundy. It is also the most expensive of the Mr Pépin cellar: 320 €. And yes, a grand cru must be earned!
