Six national police officers were injured in a spectacular accident that happened around 2:20 a.m., Saturday 2 October 2021, during a course-pursuit with two individuals in particular in possession of drugs, who had refused to obey the gendarmes near Toulouse.
The driver of the Clio refuses to obey the gendarmes
It all started with a banal refusal to comply in the gendarmerie zone, Saint-Orens-de-Gameville (Haute-Garonne), south-east of Toulouse. The soldiers chased the driver of a Renault Clio who had refused to evade control, before passing the case on to the police, once they arrived in Toulouse. Two vehicles of the anti-crime brigade (BAC) took over, and set out to follow him.
He hits the police car head on, which rolls over
The police cordoned off the perimeter around rue du Faubourg Bonnefoy, in the eponymous district, when the incriminated vehicle suffered at very high speed on a police vehicle, which he hit head-on. In the accident, the BAC car made several barrels. The fugitives’ vehicle continued its mad course, then telescoped the second crew. The two unmarked vehicles are out of service. A little longer, the driver has even hit a third party’s scooter who is there but quite by chance, who was able to extricate himself from his engine in time before the accident.
Six wounded hospitalized
On board the two crashed police vehicles, six policemen were injured. Their vital prognosis is not engaged. Suffering from multiple contusions and various injuries, they were evacuated in relative urgency by ambulances of the firefighters of the Toulouse-Vion and Toulouse-Lougnon rescue centers, to Purpan hospital, Rangueil hospital and a clinic of the Ville stood up.
Positive for alcohol and drugs, cocaine on board
As for the two occupants of the pursued car, aged around forty, they were arrested and placed in police custody at the Toulouse central police station. The driver revealed himself positive for alcohol and drugs. His passenger was in possession of cocaine. That certainly explains that.
