Toulouse. Brochant: “We are ready to give everything”
First home meeting for TMB this evening against Aulnoye-Aymeries. The opportunity to meet with Noémie Brochant, Toulouse’s top scorer (18 points) last week, at La Tronche.
Excellent scorer, aggressive player, Noémie Brochant returns from the Nations League U23, an international 3×3 event that she won with the France team on September 17 and 18 in Bucharest (Romania). Back in her club, she struck hard from the start, last week at the opening of the championship, on the field of La Tronche, being the top scorer of the match against the Iséroises. At 22, the strong winger asserts herself as a sure bet in the Toulouse workforce.
Noémie, congratulations on your victory in the League of Nations. Not too difficult to go back to 5×5?
Thank you so much. I haven’t left 5×5 for too long so it was easy to get back to it.
Between the 3×3 and the 5×5 how many vacation days have you had this summer?
Three weeks apart in all! It’s true that it was a “busy” summer but I had some great adventures between the 3×3 French Open in Lille and the Nations League events in Israel and Voiron. It also allowed me to keep a rhythm. To be able to train throughout the offseason.
Whether you bring the 3×3 for the 5×5 The 3×3 has met a quality profile of 1 on 1. Both offensively and defensively. And it’s easy to transpose to 5×5. The duration of the 3×3, as the officiating is different there, is also beneficial for the 5×5. What are your goals this season. With the TMB and on a more personal level?
The club’s objective is the rise in LFB. And on a personal level, give my best to the team to achieve this goal.
Do you find the 2021-2022 TMB squad stronger than last season?
Last season there were player changes during the season and injuries that weakened us at times. This year, we have a squad of ten girls ready to give everything in order to win this championship. So it will be a great season.
A word about the meeting against Aulnoye. Looking forward to playing again in front of an audience?
Yes we can’t wait! Aulnoye is a team which has been playing at the top of the table for a few years and which is developing a lot of intensity on the pitch. We are all impatient to play this first game at home and we will do everything to win it.
Do you promise the spectators a big victory?
I do not promise anything at all because these are two top clubs competing. What I can promise is that there will be a great basketball game.
