Regionalliga Salzburg: Saalfelden celebrates 7-0 victory over Anif
Grödig celebrated a confident 4-1 home win over Bischofshofen. Hödl scored late in Austria’s 1-0 win against Kuchl.
The home advantage was the trump card in the Regionalliga Salzburg on Saturday. Saalfelden, Grödig and Austria could not be defeated in their own place. Most goals in the 7-0 victory of FC Pinzgau over Anif. The fans of Austria, on the other hand, wait until shortly before the end for the only goal. Marco Hödl only scored the gold goal against Kuchl in the 88th minute.
The party was decided early in Saalfelden. Christopher Fürstaller, Joao Pedro and Jonas Schwaighofer set the course for victory with three goals within ten minutes. Schwaighofer and Tamas Tandari even scored 5-0 shortly before the break. In the second half, the hosts took it easy. Pedro made his second goal, Felix Adjei set the final point for the 7-0 victory in stoppage time.
Saalfelden coach Christian Ziege was of course satisfied with the performance of his team. “We acted very bravely from the start and got into the transition situation well.” Seven goals don’t happen to a team every day. From that point of view, it gives us a good dose of self-confidence for the next games. “
Grödig gave up the red lantern with a 4-1 home win over Bischofshofen. After goals from Ousainou Surr (2) and Robert Völkl, Heimo Pfeifenberger’s squad still conceded a goal shortly before the break. In the second half, however, the Grödiger defense held tight and Danijel Vucanovic fixed the final score.
Kuchl was able to keep the match against Austria Salzburg open for a long time, even if the hosts had better chances. Shortly before the end, however, the Tennengauers afforded a moment of inattentiveness with a briefly played Austria free kick. Marco Hödl used that ice cold to hit the gold.
