[J11] Amiens SC – Toulouse: the notes of the match
Faced with the Toulouse leader, the Amiens have a 4th consecutive draw, with aggressiveness and envy. Failing to play a good score, the Picards delivered an applied, serious match, with a block defense. However, it was really not enough to take the victory. the 11 Amienois gives you his notes of the match.
Man of the match Amiens SC – Toulouse
Formosa Mendy (5.5): If Formosa Mendy had seemed a bit tight at the start of the season, he quickly gained strength to the point of becoming the strongman of the Amiens defense for a few games in the absence of Fofana or Pavlovic. In this match against dangerous attackers, he was in the oven and the mill, head, marking, foot. If the Toulousains did not score this Saturday afternoon, it is partly their fault. Our man of the match! May he continue like this!
Notes from 11 Amienois
Régis Gurtner (5): Régis Gurtner had relatively little work in this match, which could have surprised all the followers of Ligue 2 BKT, when we know the Toulouse offensive strength (22 goals in 10 games). The last Amiens rampart, all dressed in green, had a few small situations to deal with but relatively few dangerous shots to repel. A clean sheet that he also owes to a solid defense this Saturday and to an attack a little less lively than usual.
Mickaël Alphonse (4,5): The dangerous Issiaga Sylla has often monopolized the attention of Micka Alphonse. There were many centers on his side. But overall, few identified clear opportunities. The flying Guadeloupean made a very good spurt around the 40th minute to lead a nice counter-attack, which unfortunately failed due to a bad understanding with Arnaud Lusamba. He also has a shot above the corn on a nice cross from Sy in the 62nd. Must quickly regain its wings.
Mateo Pavlovic (4): If he was blown into the wind by Healey in the 9th minute, he was then very serious in the face of attacks from the visitors. Author of a tactical foul in stoppage time which earned him a yellow card. Correct match with his friend from the central defense.
Harouna Sy (5): He had a hard time facing the powerful Norwegian Desler, whom he contained quite well, despite everything. Author of a nice center on the hour mark for Alphonse, he was serious throughout the match, displaying a certain vice, playing with his body to repel the many attempts to overflow his vis-à-vis . All while committing few mistakes. Gain strength.
Mathis Lachuer (4): Again present in the 11 Amiens, the young midfielder did the job, without being transcendent. He certainly missed him a bit narrowly in passing, but he had a hard time facing TFC. Making a nice defensive move against Dejaegere in the 70th minute, he ended the match with cramps.
Arnaud Lusamba (4,5): Author of the first shot of the match, from outside the area, he could have opened the scoring with a little more technical accuracy. Speaking of accuracy, the Amiens leader tried to orient the game, as usual, but sometimes had the last move, as on a counter in the 70th where he had a good opportunity to open the scoring but his shot was missed Dupé’s goal. As usual, he made very good returns in defense, solidifying the Amiens block. A decent match for El Chino.
Jessy Benet (4.5): Always eagerly awaited, the Jessy Benet from Grenoble played a little game. His set pieces have not been shot well, his influence has not yet been at the expected level. We still feel that he “has the ball”, as evidenced by his nice ball control in the 35th minute which gave him a good free kick following a foul. He has always been in the offensive game and has followed a few good passes. Should do better in the coming weeks.
Adama Diakhaby (4): Managed a few counter attacks including one with Akolo at the start of the match. The former Monegasque still lacks accuracy, who received a very bad blow and finally came out injured. Replaced by an Iron Gomis which has all its liveliness and gave a very good pass to Charbel Gomez who could not convert the offering.
Jack Lahne (4): Involved in the first dangerous action in Amiens, he led another dangerous action against, his strike having been repelled by Dupé. He was present in depth, on all Amiens attacks, but he missed the finish. Replaced by Charbel Gomez in the 71st minute who had a very big opportunity on a nice through pass from Gomis.
Chadrac Akolo (4): Chadrac Akolo found himself on a nice counter led with Diakhaby where he approached the area and got a good free kick. But overall, on the little saw. Do better. Replaced by Gaoussou Traoré at the last minute.
Philippe Hinschberger (4,5): Coach Hinschberger had asked his people to tighten the game in defense, so as not to take water against a Toulouse leader who is walking on the championship. From this point of view, he has won his bet. On the other hand, he could not find a sharp offensive organization, the Amiens having still had too few clear chances in this match which was sometimes boring.
The match (4): After the crazy match of Nancy (2 red cards), the late equalizer of Pau at the Unicorn and the Amiens robbery in the Gard, this match against Toulouse was not a meeting at the height of the anniversary of the 120 years of ASC. If the stadium was full, if the pitch was perfect, if the Toulouse supporters also took part in the party, the match was not a festival of action and penalties. Régis Gurtner did not have much choice to do, Maxime Dupé was also very bored. However, the two teams pushed at times, but it was said that this new meeting between the 2 teams would still end on a poor 0-0 (as often since 2017).
Toulouse (4.5): We expected a great Toulouse, we expected a leader sure of his game and his strength. And we saw a less strong Toulouse than last season at the Licorne. Certainly affected by their surprising defeat against SM Caen, Toulouse did not show the level of performance. So much the better for the Amiens who did not ask for so much and who did what they could, deprived of their attackers (Tolu, Badji and Bamba).
The referee (4,5): If Mr. Vernice did not have a difficult game to referee, it seems that he made a lot of mistakes in his whistling. In the first half, for example, he gave Amiens Akolo and Lahne two free kicks on blocks, when it seemed there was no fault. Other sanctions saw the Toulouse and Amiens complain about the referee. A correct match without more, on the ground as with the whistle.
