dispositif à nouveau étendu pour le dimanche sans voiture
The car-free day no longer concerns only the city center but rather eight districts of Bordeaux
Like every first Sunday of the month, several areas of Bordeaux are closed to cars on October 3, between 10 and 6 p.m. Called “My street is breathing”, this device aims to offer residents less pollution and more peace and safety once a month until June 2022.
Formerly confined only to the city center, the measure has been extended since September to seven other Bordeaux districts. Thus, traffic is prohibited on the first Sunday of each month in part of Chartrons, Caudéran, Bastide, Bordeaux Maritime, Saint-Augustin, Nansouty and Bordeaux-Sud.
The precise layout of streets condemned to cars can be found on the town hall website.
The only exceptions to the measure: These entry and exit points monitored by municipal agents with barriers to block the roads.
“My street is breathing” is part of the mobility plan presented this month by the mayor of Bordeaux Pierre Hurmic. The plan involves, among other things, a speed limit to 30 km / h, narrowing the lanes and widening sidewalks.
