Bookings back to 2019 level

Since the reopening of society last Friday, there has been an explosive growth in Norwegians’ interest in traveling abroad. According to recent figures from FINN travel, there were over half a million visits to FINN travel’s websites just during week 38 (last week), which is a sky-high increase seen last year. -The total traffic for FINN travel is now back at the 2019 level and it is very gratifying to see for the tourism industry, says Terje Berge, commercial director. – During the reopening weekend, we saw a traffic growth of almost 300 percent, so it is quite clear that many Norwegians are ready for a holiday abroad or trip now. It is especially the ticket search that has a big feature on FINN travel. Over 200,000 visits were to the flight category in week 38 alone, which was an increase of 213 percent seen in week 38 in 2020. And it is the destinations Gran Canaria, London, Alicante and Copenhagen that have been most popular to look at when this applies to airline tickets. When the used package travel and remaining places has also been a solid increase in interest, also her with Gran Canaria on the top list, as well as destinations such as Pomorskie and Crete. – There is little doubt that people dream of destinations with a little extra sun and heat now, and destinations like Gran Canaria and Crete have always been very popular among Norwegians – precisely because they almost guaranteed it, forklift Berge.
