Symposium in Salzburg focuses on the little ones

Science and politics gathered in Salzburg. The call for reforms in elementary education became loud.

Lectures in the Unipark Nonntal in Salzburg: Developmental psychologist and university professor Karin Landerl from the University of Graz and the German neuroscientist and psychiatrist Manfred Spitzer from the University of Ulm.

Science has long known what children need in elementary educational institutions, but this cannot be done justice in practice, says kindergarten teacher Monika Ude, deputy chairwoman of the Austrian Network for Elementary Education (NeBÖ). The network is organizing the Elementary Education & Neurosciences Symposium on Thursday in Salzburg together with the Austrian Neuroscience Association (ANA).
