Prague has the first 3D printed parkour playground in the world
Prague – On the last day of September, the ceremonial opening of the first 3D printed parkour playground took place in the Kupecký leisure complex in Prague 11. This is a joint project of Stavební spořitelna Česká spořitelna, 3Deposition and the city district of Prague 11. The patrons of the course are parkourists Tomáš Zonyga and Daniel Samek, who is also the author of the course design. In addition to parkour training, the elements can also be used as a playground for general physical development or strengthening with one’s own body. The playground project was sponsored by Zdeněk Hřib, the mayor of the capital. of the City of Prague, Jiří Dohnal, the Mayor of the Prague 11 District and the Czech Parkour Association.
The advantage of the printed pitch is the absence of sharp edges and thanks to the use of cast rubber as an impact surface, its safety is at a high level. The course is designed to enable movement development and inspire new users for all levels of advancement. It is intended for everyone from 10 years of age (up to 15 years with an escort). Younger children can be on the playground, but due to the height differences, all elements are intentionally inaccessible to them.
The playground with a circular floor plan has a diameter of 14 m and contains fourteen 3D printed elements, which are connected by steel pipes. To increase the strength, the individual walls are cast with recycled concrete rebetong and reinforced with shaped steel reinforcement. All 14 elements of the course were printed on a spin-off frame printer by the 3Deposition company, which was founded by experts from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Brno University of Technology. 12.5 t of special concrete mix was needed for the printing, which lasted 10 hours of clean time.
