More than 1,600 smuggled packs of cigarettes were confiscated in Thessaloniki
Coast Guard officers arrested an 18-year-old man who was in possession of a total of 1,676 smuggled packs of cigarettes in Thessaloniki.
In the arrest of an 18-year-old Pakistani national proceeded on Friday morning at Thessaloniki its executives Coast Guard for violation of the law on smuggling of tobacco products (Law 2960/2001 “National Customs Code”).
Especially, in the context of evaluation and then, according to the announcement of the Coast Guard, discreet surveillance, the 18-year-old was identified to enter the system of a transport company, where he received two cartons.
A search of the cartons revealed that they contained a total of seven hundred and sixty (760) packs of cigarettes, of various names, without the excise tax stamp, while in the possession of the above 18-year-old, three mobile phones were found. five euros (35.00 €).
This was followed by a search of the house where the 18-year-old was staying, during which nine hundred and sixteen (916) packs of cigarettes of various names were found, without the meaning of excise film and the amount of two hundred and eighty euros (€ 280.00).
In total, the officers of the Regional Drug Prosecution Team (PODIN) – Security Office of the Central Port Authority of Thessaloniki located during the inspections 1,676 smuggled packs of cigarettes, while from the Central Port Authority of Thessaloniki, which were very good,
