Fifteen points were won by the DEAC-Tungsram basketball team in the opening match of the third round of the Tippmix Men’s NBI. Alba, who was forced to do without his two key players, had a real run in Milenko Topics in Fehérvár in the first half, so the second half was just a formality.
They could not wait for the meeting with the people of Fehérvár with the best omens, as their national team-thrower, Dávid Vojvoda, could not take the game due to illness. Thanks to this, the guests will have a better time in the league with Steele’s triple and Luke’s zigzag they went 5-0 after one minute. The DEAC started the production of points with a triple Valerio-Bodon, and Thames managed to translate them quickly from the exact distance and double after Jeletovics. The Hajdúság players remained in full swing, the outside throws were still sitting, Polyák and Jeletovics also came in with a triple, and after Aska sacking, the difference was already double-digit (19-9). Dejan Mihevc’s request for time did not slow down the host either, the more and more beautiful baskets arrive on a conveyor belt, so after ten minutes the Topics bachelors were already in the 34-21 fora.
The image of the game did not change in the sequel either, the team of the University of Debrecen played basketball at the pace of the idea, they produced a 9-0 attack in two minutes, so the guest team was forced to ask for their second time (43-21). After the break-up of Drenovac, the home team reached fifty points in the middle of the quarter, and they practically decided to meet until the break. It brought a real joy play in the first half, which was closed by Lapornik’s ziccere, who already scored 17 points in the middle, so the team could go to the locker room with a 60-34 lead in Debrecen.
Alba played a noticeably well-motivated basketball game after the turn, producing a 9-2 run in three minutes, so they quickly finished within twenty points (62-43). The DEAC may have believed too early that the match was there, so they didn’t really find the rhythm until the fourth waist. Jeletovics blew an alarm with a three-pointer, and after Kerpel-Fronius made a big save, Laponik showed up with a two-plus action. Although the third act was won by the Blue and White by six points, the victory of the Civisváros was not in danger after that (74-54).
The final act was opened by Polyák’s three-pointer, and then Lapornik also sank himself in the fourth and his team’s tenth distance (80-56). In the sequel, Drenovac’s moments followed, with the Serbian mini-striker scoring five points out of two consecutive attacks, so despite playing well in the first half, Alba played a different stabilization around twenty points. In the last minutes, DEAC was completely released, so some cosmetics for the result of Fehérvár, but in essence it did not change either, Milenko Topics team’s third match opens the one hundred percent in the league.
– We knew Albania didn’t miss it, but we tried not to deal with it and play basketball in a focused way from the start. The throwing performance of the first two quarters surprised even me, reaching sixty points, and we made an important difference. After the turn, we couldn’t dictate the same pace anymore, but I’m happy with what I’ve seen.
– In the absence of our two key players, the biggest headache for us was the acquisition of the attacks. In the first half, we sold a lot of balls, which DEAC also exchanged for a basket. On the plus side, we stayed in position and were able to beautify the end result in the second half.
