“Ethics in the face of exile: Lesbos-Calais” by Philippe Bazin
Lycée Pierre de Coubertin, Saturday 11 December at 10:00
In his photographic work, Philippe Bazin radically questions our relationship to others. On several occasions, he has testified to the life and journey of refugees in the places where Europe relegates them, from Lesbos to Calais. Her work is therefore an ethic for two reasons: she encountered in question our capacity to see and to go to see the other; she challenged photography to show people and lives both medically overexposed and politically invisible. So how can the photographic gesture make the vulnerability of exile sensitive?
