Cha cha, samba, waltz and tango.

Actors and actresses from Prague theaters are once again wearing dance shoes, because they have started training for the Dance Prague Theater competition. This year’s competition will feature eight actors from eight theaters, namely the Vinohrady Theater, the V Řeznické Theater, the Semafor Theater, the National Theater, the Kalich Theater, the Municipal Theaters of Prague, the Švanda Theater, and the Broadway Theater.

The entire daring sixteen, led by the authors of the project, Martin Šimek and Tereza Řípová, met at a press conference. Each of the couples will have to master one standard and one Latin American dance by the final evening, which will take place on October 31, 2021. And who will perform in advance? They will be Nela Boudová and Jakub Vodička for the Řeznická Theater (waltz + paso doble), Anna Julie Slováčková and Adam Havel for the Semafor Theater (quickstep + rumba), Pavlína Štorková and Jakub Necpál for the National Theater (slowfox + samba), Michaela Tomešová and Adam Koutek for the Kalich Theater (waltz + jive), Viktor Dvořák and Michaela Nováková for the Municipal Theaters of Prague (tango + jive), Oskar Hes and Veronika Jirků for the Švanda Theater (quickstep + cha cha), Marek Holý and Eliška Stehnová for the Vinohrady Theater (tango + samba) and Bořek Slezáček and Zuzana Šťastná for the Broadway Theater (slowfox + cha cha).

Their performances will be decided by a jury, in which the singer Dasha, an actor, will sit Martin Dejdar, actresses Jana Paulová and Eva Burešová, chef Přemek Forejt, musician Jan Maxián and others. Individual performances are accompanied by live Gin in jam music. The evening will be accompanied by moderators Světlana Witovská and Libor Boušek.
