Since when hadn’t we had such a beautiful evening at the Palais des Sports? Long, too long! In a totally incandescent atmosphere, in front of 3000 white-hot spectators, the Caen Basket Calvados clinched a heroic victory in front of Le Havre, Friday, October 1, 2021 (87-77). They were behind by 16 points at the start of the second half (34-50, 23 ′).
Caen 87 – 77 Le Havre
19-17 / 13-26 / 30-18 / 25-16
CAEN: Bracy-Davis 22, Romain 10, Saumont 2, Diamé 6, Wiscart-Goetz 11, then Loubaki 6, Noël 14, Austin 16, Landry NPJ, Nardini NPJ.
LE HAVRE: Sylla 11, Mondésir 10, Terriers 6, Turpin 6, Carter 11, then Gentil 4, Diagne 2, Truffert, Suhard 8, Duport 19.
For 25 minutes, Caen alternated between the average and the less good, too rarely the good. It had taken an award-winning shot from Tom Wiscart-Goetz at the halftime buzzer to keep his head a little above the water. But the STB was stronger and seemed relentlessly calm, when his opponent showed more excitement. Two unsportsmanlike fouls and a technical foul in the space of a few minutes testified to his frustration. In short, Le Havre was 11 points ahead at the break (32-43, 20 ′) after a second one-sided period (13-26).
Furious madness at the Palace
The start of the third quarter was part of this continuity. Too porous defensively, Caen was far behind. And then, the spark, the flame, the fire. Outside address, caused sixth faults, the determination of Gide Noël (15 points), Waverly Austin found under the circle, the legs of Fred Loubaki and also and above all, a man on the floor.

Carried by a magical public, fallen crazy after a three-point from Gide Noël (71-71, 35 ′), the CBC has not missed anything. Kevin Bracy-Davis (22 points) even gave him the right to live a money time without trembling in the least. Obviously the room was standing with a deafening noise. One cannot imagine this success other than a foundational victory. After a year behind closed doors, it was pure happiness.
