Austria-Italy: Stefano Beltrame new ambassador to Vienna
Rome, 01 Oct 15:09 – (Nova Agency) – The Farnesina announces, following the approval of the government concerned, the appointment of Stefano Beltrame as ambassador of Italy in Vienna. This was reported by the Foreign Ministry in a note. Stefano Beltrame was born in Verona on December 8, 1960 and graduated in Political Science from the University of Padua in 1985. He entered a diplomatic career in 1991 and served at the Directorate General for Economic Affairs. In 1993 he left for his first mission abroad at the Embassy of Italy in Al Kuwait, Kuwait, with the role of Commercial Secretary. In 1998 he took up service at the Italian Embassy in Bonn, moved to Berlin in 1999. In 2001 he returned to the Farnesina at the Directorate General for the Mediterranean and Middle East Countries, until 2003, when he took up service at the Embassy of Italy in Tehran, Iran. In 2006 he took up service at the Embassy of Italy in Washington, where he deals with commercial matters. In 2010 he became Councilor for International Relations of the President of the Veneto Region, until 2014, when he took up service as Consul General in Shanghai, China. In 2018 he returned to Rome as Diplomatic Advisor to the Minister of the Interior. From the following year he served at the Directorate General for Resources and Innovation of the Farnesina, where he assumed the functions of Head of the Training Unit. From 1 October 2021 he is Ambassador of Italy in Vienna, Austria. In 1990 he was appointed Lieutenant, Artillery Weapon and in 2009 Knight Officer of the Order of Merit of the Republic. (Com)
