As every week, the editorial staff remained on the lookout for exits, offered in the corner. Here are some ideas, to occupy your weekend of Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 October 2021, in the North and the Pas de Calais.

Science festival

From this Friday until October 11, the whole region will be animated by the Fête de la science. With shows, workshops, visits and science villages all over the region (and free!), There will be something for everyone! We give you an overview of the program in the Lille metropolis, which is very active, but also in Nord – Pas-de-Calais.

Oktoberfest in Marcq!

In Marcq-en-Baroeul, the Friche Gourmande offers you an “Oktoberfest” place: beer will flow freely throughout the weekend! We tell you more about the program in an article dedicated to the subject.

The “painter of minors”

It’s the last weekend to enjoy a unique exhibition, installed at the Lewarde Historic Mining Center. You can (re) discover the works of Lucien Jonas, “painter of miners”, whose art is far from being limited to his striking portraits of mine workers.

This is a great opportunity to visit this exceptional site, after having undoubtedly a lot of knowledge about local history.

With our companions of the land and the sea

This weekend can be an opportunity to visit animals, land or sea. As a reminder, you have, in the area:

  • the Lille zoo;
  • the Fort-Mardyck zoo;
  • the Maubeuge zoo;
  • the Nausicaa National Sea Center in Boulogne…

For a total change of scenery, you can also cross the Belgian border and go to the very famous Pairi Daiza park.

It’s new !

The weekend is also an opportunity to discover what is new in the sector. In Lille, a brand new gourmet address – which offers New York cookies – is inaugurated this first Saturday in October: Delamdre Bakery. In Lens, it is a vinyl store that has recently opened its doors …

An indoor activity?

As it is starting to get a little cold (yes, this shy one was apparently well and truly over), know that you can very well enjoy many indoor activities, to do with family or friends, on the territory.

Our small selection:

  • the Krake’n Co in Liévin;
  • Prison island in Lesquin;
  • the Passenger 23 escape game in Valenciennes, or the Geekscape;
  • the Koezio in Villeneuve-d’Ascq (elite agent mission, karaoke, games, bar, etc.).

Free museums

Small reminder, this Sunday will be the first of the month. Access to museums will therefore be free! The opportunity to take a tour of the Louvre-Lens, the Hotel Sandelin, in Calais where a double exhibition dedicated to “Free figurations – 80” is currently being installed, at La Piscine de Roubaix, at LaM de Villeneuve or even in the museums of Dunkirk. Please note, free admission generally concerns the permanent collections of establishments, not necessarily temporary exhibitions. Find out before going there.

And of course, that’s only part of the things to do this weekend. You shouldn’t be bored!
