He drew attention to the fact that the catastrophic shallowing of the Ural River poses a serious threat to residents of the border regions of Kazakhstan and Russia.
Tokayev uses reserves in the Caspian Sea for the Caspian seal population.
“Kazakhstan and Russia have a rich and unique flora and fauna. At the same time, there is an acute issue of reducing the population of the Caspian seal, which is included in the Red Book of both countries. The possibility of creating state reserves in the northern Caspian,” Tokayev said.
