Shakira survives a frightening encounter with wildlife after a pack of wild boars attacked her along with her son in Spain.
Shakira narrowly escaped a dangerous situation when wild boars suddenly attacked her and her eight-year-old son, Milan, as they were walking through a Barcelona park. And the evidence doesn’t lie – the “Waka Waka” singer posted an article about the incident on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, September 29, detailing the attack and throwing a destroyed bag as evidence of the encounter.

The Colombian-Lebanese rock star was shown a muddy black bag which she said was mutilated in the attack after the two boars fled with it into the woods. “Watch how two wild boars that attacked me in the park left my bag,” Shakira told her 70 million Instagram followers, according to the BBC. “They were taking my bag into the woods with my phone inside. They destroyed everything. Milan, one of the two sons Shakira shares with her boyfriend and Spanish football player Gerard pique, does not appear to have been injured, as the video shows. Instagram Stories are temporary posts on the popular social media platform that disappear after 24 hours. A representative for Shakira could not be immediately reached for comment on Thursday, September 30.
Despite how frightening the encounter was, Shakira did not say where the attack took place. But according to a July 2019 report from The Guardian, wild boars have been causing more and more headaches to Catalans for years. Police responded to 1,187 phone calls about rogue pig packs in 2016 alone, with residents often dating each other, rummaging through trash cans, attacking dogs, blocking traffic and pushing around tourists. Barcelona is flanked by the Collserolla Natural Park, a forested mountain ridge rich in more than 190 species of wild animals, including bellicose wild boars.
