Media: Russia will triple the supply of electricity to China from October 1 – Economy and business
BEIJING, September 30. / TASS /. Russia will triple the supply of electricity through the Amurskaya-Heihe power transmission line from October 1. This was reported on Thursday China Central Television…
“From October 1, the converter substation of the overhead line of 500 kW (direct current 750 MW) will increase the daily operating time with full load from 5 to 16 hours a day,” the TV channel said.
“This measure makes it possible to radically mitigate the situation with electricity supply,” the report says. Electricity from this converter station is used in three northeastern provinces of China – Heilongjiang, Liaoning and Jilin. According to the TV channel, over 29 years Russia has supplied more than 30 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity to China.
The Amurskaya – Heihe interstate overhead power line was built to increase the export of electricity to China. It was commissioned in 2012. The maximum transmission capacity is 750 MW.
On September 27, the Chinese news portal “Zemyan” reported that 20 regions of the PRC had varying degrees of power supply due to limited coal. In particular, in the northeastern provinces of the country, energy consumption restrictions were introduced not only for industrial enterprises, but also for households and office premises.
Later, the Chinese economic publication Zhongxing Jingwei noted that the main reason for the deficit was its rise in price and tightening of national environmental standards. An additional reason was the reduction in coal imports amid disruptions in the work of foreign suppliers due to the coronavirus pandemic.
