Launch of the Annecy local mental health council
Local stakeholders who work in the field of mental health have come together at the initiative of the City, ARS Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and the Annecy Genevois Hospital Center to set up a local mental health council.
What is a Local Mental Health Council?
It is a space for consultation and coordination between elected officials, representatives of professional users, caregivers and all professionals in the area. Its objective is to define and implement local policies and actions to improve the mental health of the populations concerned. The Local Mental Health Council sets strategic goals around the prevention and promotion of mental health and operational goals for the more effective health care journey.

Deputy Mayor in charge of health, well-being and aging well, Karine Picchedda explains that “The desire to create a local mental health council (CLSM) at the Annecy scale, supported by elected officials since the merger of the municipalities, has become a priority for our municipal team”. By creating this body, the City, in collaboration with the Regional Health Agency and the Annecy-Genevois Hospital Center, thus wishes “Participate in improving the health care pathways of residents, as well as territorial and social inequalities. This advice is necessary to give consistency to the actions carried out in the field of mental health, to get people to work together and to streamline care. The objective is also to prevent and inform, therefore to work together to improve the determinants of good mental health and to inform to avoid too late taking charge which is too often the cause of collateral damage ” she ends.
How will the local mental health council work?
Groups will be formed according to themes. They will meet regularly to find concrete answers and connect the actors concerned according to the themes. A complex cases unit will also be set up in order to improve the efficiency of care and take into account as many elements as possible, which is not possible when everyone works in isolation.
Mental health information weeks from October 4 to 17, 2021
In parallel with the establishment of the Local Mental Health Council, the Mental Health Information Weeks (SISM) will take place from October 4 to 17 around the theme “For my mental health, let’s respect my rights!” “. They will begin with the exhibition “So what! At the delegated town hall of Seynod, which brings together writings and works of art produced by people concerned with mental health.
