A new fire station opened in Holešovice, replacing it from the protectorate
There will be three fire brigades at the station, which will travel to the north of the city, but also to Prague 1, for example.
The station is now approved and the fire brigade will equip it with furniture. The Ministry of the Interior has issued a new facility for 360 million crowns. “The difference from the others is that there is a space for divers, where the material is stored, they will refill their bottles here and so on,” added Prudil.
In the event that Prague firefighters intervene outside the capital or outside the Czech Republic, they will clash in the courtyard of the new Holešovice armory. A new administrative building should be built in the area, where the fire brigade from Sokolská Street should be moved. The rescue service will also have an exit point here.
The land for the new building was donated to the fire brigade by the city. Originally, there was a wooden station from 1942. It was supposed to be only temporary, but it lasted until the beginning of last year, when it was demolished.
“Prague has long been the owner of the fire station in Holešovice. On the contrary, the base is operated by the state, which, however, could not invest in the property of another owner. Therefore, even before the planned construction, new basic requirements through the Fire and Rescue Service of the Capital City of Prague for a gratuitous transfer of land, “said Petr Hlubuček, Deputy Minister for Security (United Forces for Prague / STAN).
The new building in Holešovice is not the only one that will be repaired. For next year, firefighters are counting on reconstruction stations in Strašnice. Most of the buildings in which the fire brigade is based are owned by the city, with which they cooperate in repairs.
