Toulouse launches a consultation on the identity of its neighborhoods
The City of Toulouse will launch, Monday, October 4, a major consultation on the identity of the city’s districts with their inhabitants. The objective is to write a “guide to town planning and architecture” to set a framework for new construction projects.
La Marie de Toulouse launches a new consultation with its inhabitants on the platform jeparticipe.toulouse.fr. From October 4 until November 13, it will focus on the identity of the city’s neighborhoods from the point of view of the inhabitants. Everyone will therefore be invited to share their opinion via the questionnaire entitled “My neighborhood tomorrow, shared views on its identity”.
Architects meet the inhabitants
“Buildings, parks, monuments, equipment, what makes the soul of these different neighborhoods? What are the strengths of each of these places of life? “Asks the municipality. In addition to the responses recorded on the platform, a team of architects will cycle through all the districts of Toulouse to meet the inhabitants. It will stop in various places: shopping places, parks, metro entrances, nurseries, schools, colleges, high schools or museums.
Guide to town planning and architecture
“We want to make Toulouse a city which is developing and which, at the same time, draws inspiration from the village for the quality of life”, affirms Jean-Luc Moudenc, mayor of the city and of Toulouse Métropole. The various contributions will lead to the drafting of an urban planning and architecture guide ”for each sector. Its objective will be to lay down a framework for each new construction project, “in order to ensure a harmonious and coherent development of the city”, supports the Town hall. “One of our priorities for this mandate is to make sure that each Toulousain feels good in his neighborhood, regardless of where he lives”, concludes Jean-Luc Moudenc. As a reminder, citizens still have until September 30 to submit their ideas to improve life in their neighborhood.
