The Lower University of Ruse increases the admission for the specialty “Law” – Bulgaria
The places for admission of students majoring in Law for the academic year 2021-2022 at the University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” are increasing by 20 – this is decided by the Ministry of the Ministry after the proposal of the Ministry of Justice and the Rector of the University, the government press service reports.
The additional units are for distance learning. The request is motivated by the needs of specialists in this field. It is also indicated if there is a great demand from the candidate-students for training in this specialty. So far, 41 law training places have been planned for the university, but only in a regular form. With additional numbers for part-time students, there are 61 places for lawyers.
Of particular importance “Law” is only one of the eight (together with “Economics”, “Pedagogy”, “Administration and Management”, “Medicine”, “Communication and Computer Engineering”, “Informatics and Computer Science”, “Pedagogy for. . “) most nationally, in which approximately half of the participating students study. At Sofia University (Sofia University) “St. Kliment Ohridski” in the last few years law is the most desired specialty by prospective students. In the following period of last year, part-time education at Sofia University was reduced and dropped, decided in 2017, postponed for several academic years and planned to enter into force in 2020/2021.
The updating and improvement of legal education is only one of the main goals of the Updated Strategy for Judicial Reform 2014-2020, but this will not be done in the way intended. The number of law students for the academic year 2020/21 is 7,816 (out of a total of 72,035), according to the National Statistical Institute. Since the years of the legal community, there has been a reduction in the number of law faculties and the elimination of part-time study. Regarding the judicial organizations, 9 law faculties for Bulgaria are too many and devalued legal education.
